INVESTIGATION PROSECUTION MONITORING COMMITTEE
Blue heart founded the Investigation Prosecution Monitoring Committee (IPMC) with representatives from government law enforcement agencies like Kenya police service, directorate of criminal Investigation, (DCI) department of Immigration, blue heart legal committee members and other law enforcement bodies. IPMC holds meetings to address the issues of human trafficking and child abuse in Nairobi and Mombasa County.
IPMC committee is created to ensure that cases involving human trafficking, child abuse and violence are conducted with minimum interruption as expeditiously as possible in line with the tenets of the need to determine cases fairly, efficiently and as expeditiously as possible.
Research by Blue Heart International Organization and past experience in relation to cases of human trafficking, child abuse and violence against children has led to the conclusion that there needs to be:-
i. Thorough Investigations before cases are presented to court for prosecution.
ii. When accused persons are arraigned in court, they need to be monitored through empanelling of legal counsel, to ensure that the tenets of fair trial are achieved especially for the victims.
In view of this, Blue Heart International Legal Committee will ensure that cases touching on human trafficking, child abuse and violence against children are conducted within a proper legal framework to ensure that justice is attained.
